KARACHI – The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has relieved the ChiefOperating Officer (COO) Zia Qadir Qureshi from service.
As the action has been initiated against PIA officials, first the ChiefFinancial Officer (CFO) was removed and now the national carrier’s COO ZiaQadir Qureshi has been relieved from service.
A notification has been issued in this regard after blocking Qureshi’sofficial email.
Sources said that the COO was removed from his post for his poorperformance and Paris incident.
It is pertinent here to mention that an in-flight video of angry passengersurging cabin crew to open the doors had gone viral. The footage showed awoman pleading with the airline staff to open the door as her infant wasexperiencing breathlessness before take off.
A showcasue notice was issued to Zia Qadir on August 13 to which hecouldn’t answer and instead he went on leave without informing theauthorities.
