ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday strongly contradicted the allegations leveled against the commission by the candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of bye-election NA-120, Lahore-III Yasmeen Rashid regarding electoral rolls.
According to ECP spokesman, the allegations were baseless and without facts and figure and said voter list of 3,21,786 voters had been provided to District Election Commissioner office, Lahore.
He said during current year only 67 new voters had been registered in the list, adding the previous list was provided on the request of candidates on December 2016.
He added that the District Election Commissioner Office had already asked all candidates to collect the list published for bye-election on Monday from District Election Commissioner Office with addition of those 67 new voters.
