In a Shocking Development, Saudi Arabia Suspends Seven Umrah Companies

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has suspended seven Umrah companies for violating regulatory guidelines, including accommodating pilgrims in unauthorized facilities, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) this week.

These violations were uncovered during the ministry’s continuous monitoring efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims, referred to as the “Guests of God” in the SPA statement.

The ministry described the breaches as serious offenses that compromised the safety and comfort of pilgrims. It confirmed that legal action had already been initiated against the offending companies, with penalties to follow in accordance with Saudi law.

Reaffirming its commitment to upholding the highest standards of service, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that it would not tolerate any negligence in fulfilling contractual duties or actions that put pilgrims at risk.

The ministry also urged all Umrah operators and institutions to strictly follow the approved rules and regulations. It stressed the importance of delivering agreed-upon services on time, with the goal of improving the overall pilgrim experience and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their stay in the Kingdom.
