Two political parties workers clash in Lahore leaving at least 8 injured

BEGUM KOT– At least eight persons were wounded in clash between PakistanMuslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) workers inBegum Kot area in the jurisdiction of Shahdara Police Station near Lahoreon Wednesday.

According to details, Ikram-ul-Hassan, TLP UC ameer, along with his workerswas busy in fixing flexes of Sheikh Umair Jahangir, TLP candidate ofPP-144, in the area when PML-N workers came there and barred them fromdoing so, saying that only PML-N’s candidate Malik Riaz flexes will befixed in this area.

Workers of both parties exchanged harsh words over the issue but residentsof the area in a bid to avoid further clash sent them back to theirrespective election camps.

However, the PML-N workers equipped with sticks reached the election campof TLP after some time and beat the workers of religious party as a result,eight persons were wounded.

The religious party workers informed police about the incident but theyfailed to reach the spot. Police behaviour infuriated TLP workers whostaged a protest and blocked road at the Begum Kot Chowk for all kind oftraffic.
