England makes history in ODI Cricket

LONDON – England cricket team, boosted by Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow’sbrilliant centuries, surpassed their own record of 444/3 (against Pakistan)to notch the highest-ever ODI score on Tuesday. The Eoin Morgan-led sidereached the milestone when it touched 446/3 in 45.3 ovs against Australiancricket team in the third ODI of a five-match series in Nottingham onTuesday.

The previous world record, also made by England, happened in August 30,2016. England surpassed their world record ODI score of 444 as they wentpast that total against Australia with more than four overs still to bat atTrent Bridge, Nottingham on Tuesday.

Jonny Bairstow’s swashbuckling 139 and a magnificent 143 not out by AlexHales took England past the total they achieved two years ago againstPakistan at the same ground.

Captain Eoin Morgan joined in the fun as he struck a 21-ball half century– the fastest by an England batsman in ODIs — to become his country’sleading one-day run scorer.
