ISLAMABAD – President of UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkir as part of hisSouth Asian tour would be visiting Pakistan on a two-day official visitfrom May 26. This would be Volkan Bozakir’s second visit to Pakistan as theUNGA President.
He visited Pakistan from 9-10 August 2020 as President designate of UNGA.During his stay in Islamabad, Volkan Bozakin would meet President ArifAlvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The UNGA President has also been invited to deliver a key note address atthe National Defence University, Islamabad, on Pakistan’s contribution inthe UN peacekeeping missions the world over.
In his recent interaction with the media he said he was visiting Pakistanto honour the country for its “great contribution” to the UN peace-keepingoperations around the world aimed at promoting international peace andsecurity. Pakistan is one of the largest troop contributors to thepeacekeeping missions.
