NEW DELHI – In India, the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha Electionheld today.
Voting took place in 59 seats, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’sconstituency in Varanasi, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Over ten crore people were eligible to vote in the phase which saw 918candidates across seven States and one Union Territory. Polling was held inall 13 seats in Punjab and an equal number of seats in Uttar Pradesh, ninein West Bengal, eight seats each in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, four inHimachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand and the lone seat of Chandigarh.
Repolling was also held in seven booths in Kerala’s Kannur and KasaragodLok Sabha constituencies today following the Election Commission’s findingthat bogus voting took place in the booths on April 23.
