ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan wants tofurther strengthen its bilateral relations with Kuwait through economicpartnership.
He was talking to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of KuwaitSheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Kuwait on Sunday.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said both countries have supported each other duringthick and thin and at international fora.
He thanked his Kuwaiti counterpart for raising voice against Indianatrocities in Occupied Kashmir and supporting Islamabad’s stance duringrecent tension between Pakistan and India.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister said over one hundred thousand Pakistaniworkforce is playing a key role in the development and progress of Kuwait.He said hundreds of thousands of Pakistani citizens living in Gulf Stateswant access to Kuwaiti market, but visa restrictions were biggest stumblingblock in their way.
He said this situation can improve if Kuwait reviews its visa policy. Hesaid Pakistan has taken a number of precautionary measures during past fewyears to stop illegal use of travel documents.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan attaches great importance to itsrelations with Kuwait and the people of Pakistan have special respect forAmir of Kuwait and the Crown Prince.
Acknowledging the role of Pakistani community in development and progressof Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister assured to review visa issues andextend all possible cooperation to Pakistan.
