KARACHI – Bahria University Karachi campus came under fire on social mediafor ordering its male and female students to “maintain a distance of atleast 06 inches while sitting or standing together”.

According to media reports, a notification issued by the Director Karachicampus of Bahria University asked its students to strictly follow the dresscode.

The university ordered the students of opposite gender to keep a distanceas “touching of males and females is forbidden”.

“All students are hereby directed to strictly abide by the dress code whilein the university. Instructions have been issued for the disciplinaryaction against the violators as per the rules,” the notification reads.

“Male and female students are to maintain a distance of at least 06 incheswhile sitting/standing together”, the notification added.

The educational institution warned the students of heavy fines if theyviolated the rules.

All HODs and security staff members are directed to ensure theimplementation of directives.
