*ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will embark on a four-dayvisit to Japan from April 21 (Sunday), Radio Pakistan reported onFriday. *
During the visit, Qureshi will hold wide ranging talks with his Japanesecounterpart and other dignitaries.
Apart from interacting with the Pakistani community and leading mediahouses in Japan, the FM will also interact with Japanese intellectuals,academicians and business persons at the Japan Institute of InternationalAffairs.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal, in a statement today, saidPakistan and Japan enjoy a longstanding, friendly and cooperativerelationship.
He said the foreign minister’s visit will help further deepen our friendlyties and advance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countriesin diverse fields.
It may be recalled that, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi hadcancelled his scheduled visit of Japan amid recent escalation with India.
Qureshi had to visit Japan from February 24 to 27 to hold a meeting withthe Foreign Minister of Japan over international issues, including thebilateral relations.
Japan is a key economic partner of Pakistan and has made importantcontribution in supporting Pakistan’s development efforts over the years.
