Pakistan Citizen Portal makes historic record, unprecedented earlier

*ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Citizen Portal has made historic achievement bysolving near 4 lakh complaints in just over 4 months time.*

*It resolved over 380,000 public complaints out of 539,000 thousandregistered ever since its inception in October last year.*

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, Prime Minister’sSpecial Assistant on Media Iftikhar Durrani said the technology basedComplaint Resolution System was launched with the aim to ensure check andbalance and give the message that the public sector departments wereanswerable to the masses, Radio Pakistan reported.

Iftikhar Durrani said the government was bringing improvement to thesystems to deliver to the expectations of people.

He said interest of the public in the citizen portal could be gauged fromthe fact that 829,494 people had downloaded the portal on their cellularphones.

Briefing the media about the structure of Prime Minister Citizen Portal,Deputy Secretary of Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit Adil Saeed Safi said70,000 complaints were dropped because of various reasons.

He clarified that the portal did not entertain complaints on matters thatwere subjudice or that were related to political, family and nationalsecurity matters.

As many as 9, 140 public complaints out of the 14, 984 registered on thePakistan Citizens Portal in Sahiwal division, have been resolved sinceOctober last year.

As per details, most of these public complaints were related to servicedelivery departments like police, municipalities, health, education, localgovernments, the Federal Board of Revenue and provincial revenuedepartments, according to a meeting held at the commissioner office.
