ISLAMABAD -Facebook to launch new interesting feature in Newsfeed for usersacross the World.
Facebook wants to improve the structure of the Newsfeed. Facebook isworking on revamping the structure of the News feed of its mainapplication. The social media giant is presently testing a new tabbedversion of its current news feed.
This tabbed version is expected to house different options. The currentalgorithm which shows the posts that it thinks the person would like themost will be topped with new tabs, namely ‘Most Recent’ and ‘Already Seen.’
The most recent tab will arrange posts in reverse chronological order andthe already seen tab will sort the posts that users have already seen.
The existing most recent feed of reverse chronological post was previouslyburied as a sidebar bookmark. And the already seen feed of posts is alsoavailable in the current Facebook desktop version.
This tabbed feed is only internally available; however, if it is launched,it will make the social media platform much more dynamic since users willbe able to view what’s happening in real-time. This will also allow usersto track down posts they have lost.
After 2013, this tabbed newsfeed will be the biggest change in the Facebookapplication’s main feed interface.
This prototype is still under-wraps but was found by a famous reverseengineer Jane Manchun Wong. Previously, she blew the whistle on changes toInstagram’s newsfeed as well.
According to Facebook’s spokesperson, the feature is still a prototype andis available internally. The company is still considering external testing, though. Hence, we cannot say for sure if and when the design change willroll out.
