PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Traffic Units and Traffic Police arebeing equipped with modern gadgetries and technology under recentlyintroduced traffic reforms.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin KhanMehsood has designed the agenda of traffic reforms, said a press releaseissued here on Saturday.In this connection awareness campaigns have been arranged in differenteducational institutes of the province as well as walks on differenthighways taken out. Likewise, necessary meetings have been arranged withconcerned officials and problems of load management would be solvedamicably.A large number of people from different sectors of life participated inthese campaigns. The pamphlets inscribing with traffic awareness phraseswere distributed amongst participants.Similarly, Global Possession System (GPS) and Live Video Streaming Systemtechnologies have been introduced in entire vehicles of traffic highwaysunits.It is said that a monitoring room would be established soon at trafficheadquarters for redressal of public complaints and monitoring of livevideo system.Digital E-ticketing would also be launched in all traffic police andhighways traffic field units on the pattern of motorway police.20 new vehicles branded with police stickers would be provided to highwaystraffic police and installation of 42 Digitized LED screen on busy andprominent highways of all districts of the province have been underway.LEDs would be used for general public and drivers to educate them abouttraffic laws through videos.
