ISLAMABAD: Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation inSrinagar Saturday.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , eyewitnesses said that thetroops cordoned off Lal Chowk area of the city, erected barricades andstarted a search operation.
They said that the troops searched the nearby hotels and frisked commuters.“Forces’ personnel have taken positions on the roofs of high-rise buildingsand drones have been pressed into services as well to search the area,”they added.
Meanwhile,the authorities have booked three youth including a student underdraconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), in Pulwama district.
The authorities booked the youth, Amir Shafi, Muhammad Shafi Mir and SuhailAhmed Wagay under the PSA and shifted them to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
Amir Shafi and Muhammad Shafi Mir were arrested last month following thekilling of a youth by Indian troops while Suhail, who is pursuing B.Sc in acollege in Bangalore, India, was held two months back when he returned home.
The families of the youth said they have been falsely implicated in falsecases and demanded their immediate release.
