SRINAGAR – The brutal rape and murder of an 8-year-old little girl inKathua district in occupied Kashmir has flared up tensions, according tothe Kashmir Media Service.
Asifa Bano, who had gone missing a week ago, was found dead undermysterious circumstances in the Hiranagar tehsil of Hindu-dominated Kathuadistrict, initial reports suggested. Her body was shifted to DistrictHospital Kathua for the postmortem.
There were serious injury marks on the face of the girl, according to KSM.
The family and the relatives of the girl staged a protest in the locality,demanding swift investigation into the case and the arrest of the culprits.
The Opposition Friday morning created an uproar in the Assembly immediatelyafter the proceedings started in the House.
Minister for Parliamentary affairs Abdul Rahman Veeri told the opposition,“the murder of minor girl in Heeranagar area of Kathua district is aserious issue and a Special Investigation Team has been already constitutedto probe the matter. I assure that those found guilty will be sternlypunished”.
On Thursday, the people of Kashmir held a demonstration on the incompetenceof law enforcement authorities after the brutal rape and murder.
Reacting to the incident Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursdayexpressed her outrage over the “heinous” murder of the eight-year-old girl.
Mufti took to Twitter to express her resentment and also assured ofinvestigation into the case.
“Outraged by the heinous incident in which a young Bakerwal girl has losther life. Incidents like this will be investigated expeditiously & theguilty will be punished,” she said.
