Malaysia refused to participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair in support of Israel's position. It withdrew its name from the world's largest book fair. According to reports, Malaysia declined to participate in the world's largest book fair when the literary association "Litprom" announced that it had awarded the International Peace Prize to Palestinian author Adania Shibli after Hamas attacks on Israel.
The fair's organizers stated on Facebook that they would make special efforts to highlight Jewish and Israeli voices in book fairs this year.
Malaysia's Minister of Education, Fadilah Salleh, stated that the decision not to participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair was due to the organizers' pro-Israel stance.
She emphasized that this decision aligns with Malaysia's government policy, which expresses unity and full support for Palestine.
