US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khlilzad says peace process and political settlement in war-torn country is top priority of the United States and Afghans want peace above all else.
In a tweet, he said wanting peace does not preclude Afghans from demanding preparations for a credible presidential election.
Zalmay Khalilzad said election planning must go forward as we pursue the peace Afghans deserve.
