Pakistan Army Chief warns enemy of nefarious designs

RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said today (May 18) that Pakistan is playing a positive role in Afghan reconciliation process and peace in the region, it also stay ready to fight any unforeseen eventuality.

He expressed that Pakistan is ready to deal with all kind of challenges on the Eastern border. “There are still challenges facing Pakistan but not as much as we have passed through in recent past. To continue the journey towards ultimate success we need to stay patient, determined and united”, the COAS added.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS visited troops on forward posts along Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Dawatoi in North Waziristan where he was briefed about progress on rehabilitation of TDPs and economic development.

He said for this Pakistan was solidifying border through fencing, construction of new forts and posts and increase in strength of Frontier Corps troops to effectively manage the border. Similarly, we continue to maintain required state of alertness and preparedness on our Eastern Border, he said.

As per ISPR, Gen. Qamar Bajwa also met with troops and appreciated them and their contributions for bringing stability in the area.
