A powerful earthquake link jolted a number of cities link in Punjab link Friday morning as people were heading to their offices and schools.
The earthquake link was measures 4.6 on Richter scale and mainly struck near Burewala in Vehari District. The tremor was recorded at 7:54 am at a shallow depth of 20km below the surface.
The epicentre of the earthquake link was located 12 km away from Burewala in Okara link.
The people rushed out of their houses reciting Holy Quran verses.
According to the Volcano Discovery website, based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicentre.
