Top Chinese Mining Companies make entry into Pakistan

PESHAWAR: KP Minister for Mineral Development, Dr. Amjad Ali has said that the provincial government has signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with top mining companies of the Peoples’ Republic of China.

The companies will set up modern technological based gemstone cutting and polishing units.

He expressed these views during a meeting with PTI MPA from Mansehra, Babar saleem Swati here on Monday.

During the meeting, Babar Saleem Swati briefed the minister about problems of the mining sector in his home district.

The minister while assuring resolution of problems said that public interest is dear to him and the government has evolved strategy for the resolution of the problems of people.

He said that a task force was being formed for the exploration of mineral reserves while the procedure of the auction of minerals’ lease was also being simplified to attract both local and foreign investors.

In this connection, he said that local companies were being provided merit-based equal opportunities.
