LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has Monday rejected the petition seeking formation of judicial commission in the Sahiwal incident case.

A two-member bench headed by LHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan heard the petition. An inquiry report by Sahiwal sessions judge was submitted in the Lahore High Court.

Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan said in his remarks that it is not in court’s jurisdiction to form the judicial commission, however, the counsel is allowed to argue.

The lawyer said a judicial commission was also formed to probe the Model Town incident, upon which the LHC inquired about the law which allows the court to form the commission.
