LAHORE: Earth Hour Pledging ceremony was held in Punjab Assembly in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan. Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal was the chief guest of the ceremony while Provicial Minister for Education Rana Mashood also participated in the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Rana Iqbal said that Pakistan has been suffering from energy crisis for a long time we would have to work with the world to stop the wastage of energy. Concrete measures will have to be taken to end the erergy crisis and we will have to play our effective role in collaboration with international community in this regard. He added.
Speaking at the occasion, Rana Mashood vowed to commemorate Earth Hour 2016 saying that we want to give a better future for our next generations by protecting the earth from pollution.
Hammad Naqi Khan, Director General WWF-Pakistan and Ahmer Yar Malik, Managing Director (MD) Tourism were also present in the ceremony.
Later all the participants of the ceremony reiterated to take effective steps to protect earth from pollution. National anthem was also played at the end of the ceremony.
