WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature called chat filters, aimed at enhancing the messaging experience by organizing the chat list into categories. Positioned above the chat list, these filters offer quick navigation and are divided into three categories: All, Unread, and Groups.
The 'All' filter provides a comprehensive view of all the chats, while the 'Unread' filter displays only chats with unread messages, including newly received ones or those previously marked as unread. On the other hand, the 'Groups' filter narrows down the view to group chats and subgroups of Communities.
WhatsApp emphasizes that these filters are designed to make the user experience more efficient, ensuring that finding the right conversation is swift and effortless. With the introduction of chat filters, unnecessary scrolling through the chat list should be minimized.
The rollout of these filters has begun globally, starting today, and they will gradually become available to all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks.
In addition to the chat filters update, WhatsApp has also been testing its Meta AI assistant within the app for select users worldwide. This feature seems to be accessible to users in regions such as Pakistan and India, initially on devices with newer Android versions.
