ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has injected four newoil and gas wells, producing 32,197 barrels crude oil and 555 mmcf gas, inits production gathering system during first quarter of the current fiscalyear (FY). “Injected wells include Khirun-1, Nandpur-1, Kunnar-12 andQadirpur-59, having cumulative production of 32,197 barrels oil and 555mmcf,” official sources told APP.
During the period under review, they said, the company made two oil and gasdiscoveries namely Chanda-1 and Mela-5 in district Kohat, KPK province.
From the news finds, they sources said, expected cumulative dailyproduction potential was 795 barrels of oil and 2.45 mmcf gas. The OGDCLhas also completed 256L.
Kms of 2D and 251Sq. Kms of 3D seismic data acquisition in its operationalblocks to assess potential of hydrocarbon reserves.
The company’s average daily net crude oil production clocked at 40,729 bpd(barrel per day) and gas production stood at 1,044 mmcfd (million cubicfeet per day).
It contributed 29 percent of the country’s total natural gas production and47 percent of its total oil production during the month of August 2018.
With a portfolio of 61 exploration licences, the sources said the companyhad the largest exploration acreage in Pakistan, covering 26 percent of thetotal awarded acreage as of September 30, 2018.
