FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi reveals the strategic objectives of Pakistan Foreign Policy

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says the government isworking to take the war against extremism and terrorism to its logicalconclusion and promoting economic stability through inclusive growth.

He was addressing participants of National Security and War Course atNational Defense University, Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Minister said Pakistan wants friendly and cooperative relations withall countries, including major powers and immediate neighbors, and adurable solution of the Kashmir dispute.

He said turning Pakistan’s geo-strategic location into a geo-strategicasset, projecting the rightful image of the country, cultural ethos andstate policies, economic prosperity and growth through multifacetedpartnerships and welfare of Pakistani Diaspora abroad are also priorityareas of the government.

The Minister said that the government is working to achieve strategicobjectives of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He said while safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity of thestate we are maintaining credible national security capabilities to deteraggression.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan has been major victim of terrorism butthrough a collective effort of our security forces and resilient people ofPakistan we have been able to get out of this menace successfully.

He said Pakistan fully supports Afghan peace process as tranquility inAfghanistan is essential for regional peace and stability.
