*ISLAMABAD – **Legendry spinner Mushtaq Ahmed reveals reasons behind thestruggling Pakistan cricket team.*

*Former Pakistan off spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has said that the nationalcricket team is undergoing a ‘transition phase’ and would take time to showconsistent performance.*

“I think Pakistan cricket is going through a transition phase. There’s achange in management. Misbah-ul-Haq is now the head coach. Captains in allformats have been changed. So this Pakistan team needs time to improve andprogress,” said Mushtaq, quoted *Indo-Asian News Service*.

According to Mushtaq, Pakistan players at present are not secure abouttheir position in the team and that in turn is affecting their performance.

“Whenever a captain or a player of any team is insecure about his positionin the side, it becomes very difficult for him to execute his plans andexpress himself. So, I think Pakistan right now needs a consistent run andMisbah needs time. When these two things will click, I am sure they willemerge as a successful team,” Mushtaq said.

Just weeks ago, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced major reshufflesafter Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked from captaincy in T20I and Test format, with Babar Azam and Azhar Ali assuming the leadership roles In T20Is andTest format, respectively.

Currently, the team is in Australia where they lost the T20I series and arenow preparing for the Test matches.
