UAE government makes a big offer to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered Pakistan to giveaccess to its labour market’s database, which would help boost export ofPakistani workforce to the former.

The offer was extended by UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation(MOHRE) Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli during a meeting with Special Assistantto Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistan and Human Resource Development SayedZulfikar Abbas Bukhari on sidelines of 5th ministerial session of Abu DubaiDialogue, an official press release said.

The initiative would provide Pakistan up-dated information of jobopportunities in the UAE’s labour market, besides enabling it to train theworkforce as per the market demand.

Zulfikar Bukhari informed his counterpart that Pakistan wanted to integratea digital platform with the UAE for ensuring fair and transparentrecruitment process, besides minimizing its cost. The country was ready tolink its digital platform with the UAE, he added.

Both sides also agreed to activate the joint committee, which was formedfor implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding recently signed toensure the protection of Pakistani workers’ rights and resolving theirlegal job disputes in the Emirates.

It was also decided to prepare a three-year plan for recruitment ofPakistani workforce.

The Special Assistant said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government stood withits promise of providing respectable jobs to the youth at local andinternational level, adding the country’s economy was moving in the rightdirection under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said the government had been taking practical measures to create jobopportunities for youth within the country and abroad. The export ofmanpower witnessed 51 percent increase during the first seven months of thePTI government, he added.

The Overseas Ministry has been fostering relations with brotherly countriesto stabilize the country’s economy by sending more and more workforceabroad.
