In the national history, the Supreme Court’s proceedings are beingbroadcast directly for the first time. In the Supreme Court, under theleadership of Chief Justice Pakistan, Justice Faiz Isa, hearings are takingplace on petitions against the Supreme Court Practices and Procedure Act.
Chief Justice Justice Faiz Isa is presiding over the full court on thefirst day, which consists of 15 judges of the Supreme Court. The full benchof the Supreme Court, comprising 8 members, had previously suspended theimplementation of the Practices and Procedure Act on April 13th.
The Practices and Procedure Act pertains to the division of powersregarding the Chief Justice’s authority in public interest cases. Accordingto the Practices and Procedure Act, the decision to take suo motu noticecan be made by a committee consisting of the Chief Justice and two seniorjudges.
