ISLAMABAD – New developments have been made in the Nandipur Power projectcorruption case.
The accountability court on Tuesday has ordered former advisor to PrimeMinister (PM) on parliamentary affairs Babar Awan and former Prime MinisterRaja Pervez Ashraf to submit surety bonds of Rs0.2 millioin each inNandipur power project scandal.
Babar Awan, Pervez Ashraf and five others appeared before theaccountability court where Justice Mohammad Arshad Malik resumed thehearing of the reference.
The court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds and summoned themagain on October 2.
The reference was filed by NAB over alleged delay in the project inflictingwhooping Rs27 bn loss to national exchequer.
Soon after the reference was filled, Babar Awan had tendered resignationfrom his post.
