ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) gives yet another blow tothe Sharif Family over the issue of the bails of Nawaz Sharif, MaryamNawaz.
NAB has strongly opposed the bail plea in its para-wise comments in SupremeCourt of Pakistan (SC) filed by Sharifs.
The anti-graft watchdog—in its reply— stated the section under whichPakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz and Capt (rtd) Safdarhave been penalized is non-bailable. The reply further read Nawaz Sharifwas found guilty of making assets beyond income whereas Maryam Nawaz andher better-half Safdar were accomplices in hiding the assets.
The reply further added concrete evidence were submitted in theaccountability court against the Sharifs.
NAB—in its para-wise comments—requested the apex court to dismiss the bailpleas of Sharifs as it wasn’t admissible for hearing.
On July 6, accountability court jailed ousted premier Nawaz Sharif,daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar for 10, 7and 1 year respectively.
Announcing verdict judge, Muhammad Bashir ruled that the Avenfieldapartments of the Sharif family shall be seized by the federal government.
The judge while awarding 10 years imprisonment to Nawaz Sharif also imposedan eight million pound (Rs1.2billion) fine, while a fine of two millionpound (Rs322 million) has been imposed on his daughter Maryam Nawaz .
