Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry gets a big relief from the Islamabad HighCourt (IHC) on Tuesday.
IHC suspended the non-bailable arrest warrants for Fawad Chaudhry andordered him to appear before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Ahearing on the petition of Fawad Chaudhry against the issuance ofnon-bailable arrest warrants by the ECP was held in the IHC.
Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri conducted the hearing on the petition, andFawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Advocate appeared before the court.
While presenting his arguments in the court, Faisal Chaudhry Advocate saidthat contempt proceedings against Fawad Chaudhry were ongoing in the ECP.
At this, the court remarked: “The chief justice has given a verdict thatthe contempt of election commission proceedings will continue.”
It further remarked: “The chief justice in his judgment has restrained theECP from issuing a final verdict in this matter.”
