ISLAMABAD – *Pakistan Navy has received the first ATR-72 Maritime PatrolAircraft from the German-based contractor Rheinland Air Service.*
“The first ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft has been delivered to thePakistan Navy after completing intensive ground and flight tests. Thisdelivery represents a major milestone for Rheinland Air Service as primecontractor and Aerodata as the key project partner,” Aerodata revealed in apress statement.
The Rheinland Air Service signed the contract with the Pakistan Navy in2015 to convert two ATR-72 aircraft already owned by the Pakistan Navy intoMaritime Patrol Aircraft. Rheinland Air Service as the prime contractorperforms the overall project management, acquisition of key components, allphysical aircraft modification work and pilot training.
Meanwhile, Aeordata was involved in the delivery of its mission managementsystem AeroMission, all system integration activities, engineering tasks toconvert the ATR-72 from the transport into a maritime patrol configuration,delivery of parts for the aircraft modification as well as customertraining and support.
The work on the project started in January 2016 after the government exportapprovals.
