Babar was announced as the all-format captain last year and has had aterrific start to his captaincy career. He recently became the firstPakistani captain to win his first four Test matches as captain, winningthe series against South Africa and Zimbabwe. His ODI record is immaculateas well, having won four and lost one in the six matches he has captained.

Hafeez believes that Babar is the right person to take Pakistan cricketforward and he has already proved that he has the required skills tocaptain at the top level. Hafeez added that there is still room forimprovement for Babar and he will get even better as he gains moreexperience.——————————

Hafeez also rubbished the notion that Babar would lose his form once hebecomes a captain. Hafeez said that Babar is one of the best batsmen in theworld and his fundamentals of batting are so strong that no condition orpressure can deter him from playing his game.

The 40-year old also talked about England’s upcoming historic tour ofPakistan in October. Hafeez appreciated the tireless work done by the PCBofficials and the government to bring back cricket to Pakistan and he washopeful that this tour would open the gates for regular internationalcricket in the country.
