Pakistan Army Chief warns enemy of nefarious designs

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa saidtoday (May 18) that Pakistan is playing a positive role in Afghanreconciliation process and peace in the region, it also stay ready to fightany unforeseen eventuality.

He expressed that Pakistan is ready to deal with all kind of challenges onthe Eastern border. “There are still challenges facing Pakistan but not asmuch as we have passed through in recent past. To continue the journeytowards ultimate success we need to stay patient, determined and united”,the COAS added.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS visited troops onforward posts along Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Dawatoi in NorthWaziristan where he was briefed about progress on rehabilitation of TDPsand economic development.

He said for this Pakistan was solidifying border through fencing,construction of new forts and posts and increase in strength of FrontierCorps troops to effectively manage the border. Similarly, we continue tomaintain required state of alertness and preparedness on our EasternBorder, he said.

As per ISPR, Gen. Qamar Bajwa also met with troops and appreciated them andtheir contributions for bringing stability in the area.
