ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that a meetingbetween Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump could bepossible after progress in talks between the Afghan Taliban and the US.
In an interview to *Urdu News, *the minister said that talks were inprogress in Doha in which significant progress has already been made.Qureshi continued that both the leaders are important people who have akeen interest in peace and stability in the region.
The minister said that although the meeting between Trump and the premierwas not dependent on talks between the US and the Taliban, a progress in itwill create a conducive environment and create a new opening in thebilateral relations between the two countries.
While speaking about the visa sanctions being imposed on Pakistan, Qureshidenied that there was any issue. The minister added that the visa ban onthree government officers of Pakistan is temporarily and will be liftedsoon.
The foreign minister also said that the world should recognize Pakistan’sefforts to stop terrorism funding. He added that there was no reason to putPakistan on grey list of the Financial Action Task Force, local mediareported.
