Iran adopted new tactics and destinations in Oil Exports

TEHRAN – Iran has adopted new tactics and new destinations in shipping itsoil exports following the re-imposition of US sanctions, a senior Iranianmaritime official was quoted as saying on Saturday by the semi-officialILNA news agency.

“The Oil Ministry’s tactics in exporting oil and petroleum products havechanged, … and perhaps the destinations of oil cargoes from our ports havechanged,” Hadi Haqshenas, maritime affairs deputy director at Iran’s Portsand Maritime Organization, told ILNA.

Haqshenas gave no details of the new tactics or destinations.

Iranian crude oil exports have fallen in May to 500,000 barrels per day(bpd) or lower, tanker data showed and industry sources said, after theUnited States tightened the screws on Tehran’s main source of income,deepening global supply losses.
