LONDON – Pakistan cricket team faces a big setback ahead of important testmatch against England.
Top pacer Mohammad Amir has been injured and is unlikely to play the testmatch against England. Wahab Riaz, Waqas Maqsood and Mir Hamza areamongst the top contenders to replace Mohammad Amir.
Riaz, who recently underwent a nose surgery, has resumed training at theNational Academy as he looks to regain full form and fitness.
The left-arm pacer also has a contract with Derbyshire County for theupcoming T20 Blast, where he will play the first ten matches of the season.
Maqsood and Hamza, who both have accumulated over 200 wickets infirst-class cricket, are also in the reckoning for a place in the side.
Maqsood was also the highest wicket-taker in the recently concludedPakistan Cup, where he bagged 14 wickets representing Federal Areas.
The two-Test series between Pakistan and England is scheduled to begin onthe May 24.
