Pakistan Military makes key demand from Afghan Taliban government in Afghanistan

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday thatsecurity forces successfully thwarted an attempt by at least seventerrorists to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border inKhyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district. According to the military’smedia wing, the incident occurred on April 16 (Tuesday) when a group ofseven terrorists was detected near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in theSpinkai area of Ghulam Khan in the tribal district.

Upon detection, the security forces swiftly surrounded the infiltrators andengaged them effectively. Following an intense exchange of fire, all seventerrorists were neutralized. The ISPR emphasized that a substantialquantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from thedeceased terrorists, underscoring the severity of the threat they posed.

Furthermore, the ISPR’s statement underscored Pakistan’s consistent callsto the Taliban-led interim Afghan government to enhance border managementmeasures on their side of the border. The military urged the interim Afghanauthorities to fulfill their obligations and prevent the exploitation ofAfghan soil by terrorists for launching attacks against Pakistan.

The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to securing itsborders and eradicating terrorism from the country. It emphasized that thesecurity forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their determination tocounter the menace of terrorism.

This recent incident echoes Pakistan’s repeated appeals to Afghanauthorities to take decisive action against terrorists exploitingAfghanistan’s territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan.

Just last month, Pakistan conducted an intelligence-based anti-terroristoperation inside Afghanistan targeting terrorists associated with the HafizGul Bahadur Group and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), furtherillustrating the gravity of the cross-border terrorism threat.
