PM Shahbaz Sharif finalised 36 member federal cabinet of coalition government

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has finalized 36 names for his cabinetmembers that are likely to be sworn in today night at 8:30 pm.

The coalition government of Shehbaz Sharif will give 11 ministries to thePakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The sources said in the first phase only 12 ministers will take oath andothers to join the cabinet in the second phase.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is likely to hold the office of a foreignminister and Hina Rabbani Khar the foreign minister for the state. ShaziaMurree is likely to hold the ministry of human rights.

The formula for representing the coalition parties in the cabinet is basedon the representation of each party in parliament.

The PML-N will hold 14 ministries and Rana Sanaullah is likely to get theministry of interior, Ahsan Iqbal the ministry of planning and development,Maryam Aurangzeb the ministry of information and broadcasting, MuftahIsmail the ministry of finance and Khawaja Asif the ministry of commerce.

Though former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had excused holding any ministrybut PM Shahbaz Sharif has handed over the supervision of energy affairs tohim, the sources said.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) is likely to get the Ministryof Ports and Shipping while Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s JUI-F will get fourministries.

Balochistan Awami Party and BNP Mengal will also be given a share in thecabinet.
