“With all due respect, I don’t get confused,” Haley said in a statement toFox News that was confirmed by the US mission to the United Nations.
Haley on Sunday said new US sanctions on Russia would be announced onMonday by US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, but the White House said nosuch decision had been made.
President Donald Trump’s assistant for economic policy, Larry Kudlow, toldreporters that Haley “got ahead of the curve” with her announcement ofsanctions on Russia over an alleged chemical attack by President Basharal-Assad’s forces in Syria.
“There might have been some momentary confusion about that,” Kudlow toldreporters ahead of a meeting between Trump and Japanese Prime MinisterShinzo Abe.
