ISLAMABAD – Capital Development Authority (CDA) has attained the arrestwarrant of Project Manager working for US Embassy for his allegedinvolvement in cutting trees.
According to Diplomatic Enclave CDA officials, a construction firm (BLHarbert International) working in US Embassy in Islamabad is involved incutting the trees illegally.
Directorate Forester Zamurad Khan, Forest Guard Imran Hussain Shah andSupervisor Khurram Shahzad had filed challans of Rs2.5m against US Embassycontractor on account of cutting trees illegally.
On this, embassy contractor denied co-operating, after that CDA EnvironmentDirectorate staff has got the arrest warrant of person who involved in thisillegal cutting of trees.
CDA environment officials are of the view that the company working in USembassy was served a number of notices and fined but no company officialheed attention or appeared before the CDA special magistrate, on which CDAmagistrate issued the arrest warrant.
CDA Diplomatic officials told “Online” that another company (PineWarehouse) working in US embassy also illegally using the land of CDA, andhas not paid the rent since long.
