*LAHORE: *Will Nawaz Sharif meet Altaf Hussain’s fate over the Mediacoverage on his anti judiciary rhetoric.
The Opposition benches demanded that the country’s top court order thePakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to immediately banlive coverage of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s speeches on TVchannels.
The demand was put forward by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf legislator DrNausheen Hamid in a resolution she submitted in the Punjab Assembly.
Dr Nausheen said the speeches of a man, who the Supreme Court of Pakistanhad disqualified, should be banned. She added a ban should also be imposedon the publication of his pictures in print media. The five-line resolutionfurther urged the SC to give directions to PEMRA for take immediate stepsto stop Sharif’s live coverage.
MPA Dr Nausheen Hamid said the opposition was at a loss to understand whythe media was giving coverage to a man who was no longer ‘Sadiq and Ameen’.
“The former PM is no longer an MPA, MNA or president of the party.
