In a surprise, UN Chief opposed the Veto Rights of the 5 permanent members of UN Security Council

ISLAMABAD – The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said veto powerright to five permanent members of Security Council is against the spiritof equilibrium.

Speaking at a dialogue session in Lahore on Tuesday, he said there is noequality at the international level between the countries and eliminationof this inequality is a long process.

The UN chief said he has also talked about human rights protection inoccupied Kashmir.

He said food, shelter, and freedom of expression are also basic humanrights and youth will have to play an active role for protection andpromotion of these rights.

About environmental pollution and climate change, Antonio Guterres said wewill have to take decisions to cope with this challenge.

He also underlined the need to equip new generation with moderntechnologies besides bringing changes in curriculum.
