ISLAMABAD – Deported from India, British MP Debbie Abrahams to land inPakistan for Azad Kashmir visit.
A day after British MP Debbie Abrahams was denied entry to India anddeported to Dubai, sources said that she headed to Pakistan on Tuesday.
Abrahams left from Dubai for Pakistan as she already had a plan to visitthe South Asian nation which she had not disclosed earlier, added thesources.
She is also scheduled to visit Pakistan Kashmir.
Abrahams has been active against India at the behest of Pakistan, added thesources. Her visit to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir has been sponsored by thePakistan Government.
The Indian government clarified that Abrahams’ visa was revoked as she hadindulged in activities which went against the national interest of India.
The sources added that the rejection of the e-Business Visa was intimatedto her on February 14. Abrahams was stopped from entering India after herarrival at the New Delhi airport on February 17 (Monday) and deported toDubai.
The government sources also clarified that the grant, rejection, revocationof visa or electronic travel authorisation is the sovereign right of anycountry.
It added that Abrahams was issued an e-Business Visa on October 7, 2019,which was valid until October 5, 2020, to attend business meetings. “Here-Business Visa was revoked on February 14, 2020, on account of herindulging in activities which went against India’s national interest.
The rejection of the visa was intimated to her on February 14,” added thesources.
The sources also added that Abrahams was not in the possession of a validvisa at the time of her travel to India and she was accordingly requestedto return.
“There is no provision of ‘visa on arrival’ for UK nationals at theairport,” said the sources.
