Interior Minister warns PDM against Masdrassah students or uniform clad participants in demonstration

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid says government has decided to give freehand to opposition to organize a rally in the Red Zone, but nobody will beallowed to take law into hands.

Talking to media in Islamabad this evening, he said no container or hurdlewill be created in the way of Pakistan Democratic Movement to stage ademonstration in front of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said ECP is a constitutional body and it is expected that the oppositionwill respect its sanctity. He said the PDM should know that the SupremeCourt, the Parliament House and other institutions are situated on theConstitution Avenue and the government has taken all necessary securitymeasures for their protection.

The Minister said for the first time, PDM has been allowed to organize itsrally in the Red Zone and the law enforcement agencies will watch thatwhether any seminary student is participating in the oppositions’ rally. Hesaid the law will take its course if anybody attempts to take law intohands.

Answering a question, Sheikh Rashid said action will be taken if any batonor uniform clad group like Anasar-ul-Islam participates in opposition’srally.

To another question, the Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s partyhas submitted record of 40,000 transactions to the ECP, but the oppositionis unable to produce record of just 4,000 people from whom it has receivedforeign funding.
