ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Foreign Office strongly responds over the Indian Chiefof Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat statement.
Pakistan has strongly condemned Indian Chief of Defense Staff General BipinRawat’s remarks about “deradicalization camps” for Kashmiri children andseeking to place Pakistan on FATF blacklist, reported by *Radio Pakistanlink*.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui, in a statement, said thatPakistan condemns the highly irresponsible remarks made by General BipinRawat, raising inter alia the usual Indian bogey of “terrorism”, making therepugnant suggestion of putting young Kashmiri children in”de-radicalization camps”, and seeking to place Pakistan on FATF blacklist.
The statement stated that these remarks are reflective of the extremistmindset and bankrupt thinking that have evidently also permeated the stateinstitutions of India.
It further noted that as a perpetrator of unabated state-terrorism inoccupied Kashmir, India is in no position to pontificate on the issue ofterrorism.
The occupied Kashmir has already been turned into the world’s largestprison camp with 8 million Kashmiris incarcerated there since 5 August lastyear.
The statement added that with over 900,000 Indian occupation forcesperpetrating egregious violations of human rights; draconian laws such asArmed Forces Special Powers Act and Public Safety Act enabling themcomplete impunity; and over 13,000 young Kashmiri boys abducted from theirhomes and away from their families.
The spokesperson said General Rawat’s talk of “deradicalization camps” forKashmiri children is simply despicable.
She further said General Rawat’s remarks about FATF are proof of India’srepeated attempts to politicize FATF’s technical proceedings for advancingits narrow, partisan objectives.
She said Pakistan has consistently sensitized the world community aboutIndia’s malicious campaign in this regard. She expressed hope that the FATFmembers would reject these Indian machinations.
