India frustrated over Pakistani SC historic verdict on Gilgit Baltistan, asks Pakistan to vacate GB

NEW DELHI – Indian ministry of external affairs (MEA) in a release said,”Pakistan Government or judiciary have no locus standi on territoriesillegally and forcibly occupied by it, referring to Pakistan Supreme Courthistoric ruling over Gilgit Baltistan.

Any action to alter the status of these occupied territories by Pakistanhas no legal basis whatsoever.”

Reiterating that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral partof India, New Delhi rejected “continued attempts by Pakistan to bringmaterial change in these occupied territories.

“It called on Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegaloccupation.

Pakistan’s Supreme Court gave its verdict on Thursday giving rights topeople of Gilgit Baltistan.

The region is becoming crucial to Pakistan and China’s massiveinfrastructure programme– The China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC).Pakistan is keen to declare the strategic region as its fifthprovince.
