Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir expressed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people during the 260th Corps Commanders' Conference at GHQ in Rawalpindi. He emphasized Pakistan's commitment to a lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue and the end of the unlawful occupation of their territories and sacred places.
The military leadership, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), expressed concern over the events in the Gaza-Israel War, particularly the heavy toll on innocent civilians due to Israel's disproportionate use of force.
During the conference, they paid their respects to the martyrs of Mastung, Hangu, and Zhob incidents that occurred during the Holy month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, and acknowledged the ongoing sacrifices made by security forces and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism.
The conference participants jointly affirmed their dedication to addressing all terrorists, their supporters, and instigators, who are working on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan. The forum received a briefing on the prevailing geo-strategic environment, challenges to national security, and the country's strategy in response to evolving threats.
The military leadership reasserted the Pakistan Army's commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation against both direct and indirect threats. General Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan's support for the Palestinian people's diplomatic, moral, and political rights, pledging to uphold the principled stance of the Pakistani nation regarding the Palestinian issue.
Additionally, the participants pledged full support for the strategic initiatives initiated by the Pakistani government to revive the country's economy, with the aim of enhancing the overall well-being of the population. The conference also conducted a comprehensive review of the actions taken against illegal economic activities.
