IGP Punjab awards cash prizes among policemen for bravery

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan distributed cash awards worth Rs 2.7 million among 61 police officers/officials for bravery.

A special ceremony, in order to acknowledge thetremendous service of 61 police officers/officials of 9 different districts was held at Central Police Office here on Thursday.

Addressing the ceremony, the Provincial Police Chieflauded the act of bravery and courage, demonstrated by the said police officers/officials.

He expressed the hope that they would continue to perform their duties with zest and zeal for elimination of heinous crimes and maintenance of law & order in the province and would ensure complete sense of security to the citizens.

He exhorted the policemen to perform their duties without any greed, fear and serve the people with full dedication so that the police force could enjoy the full confidence of the society.

He further said that able, industrious and dutiful police officers and personnel are proud of department whereas dishonest, shirker and dull officers and personnel have no place in the department.

Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Mohsin Hassan Butt, DIG Headquarters Punjab, B.A. Nasir and AIG Discipline, Shahzad Akbar was also present on the occasion.
