KABUL: In Afghanistan, eleven security forces personnel and seventeen Taliban militants were killed in fresh clashes in Zabul and Kunduz provinces.
Shinkay district chief told media that militants armed with guns and rocket propelled grenade stormed security checkpoints in Sayywara locality of the district late last night.
The security forces fought back the attackers and clashes lasted for hours.
He said three police officers and 12 militants were also wounded but the militants fled to nearby mountains after reinforcement arrived at the area..
Six militants and two police officers were also wounded after Taliban attacked a government forces' outpost in Qala-i-Zal district of northern Kunduz province today.
